| Cocoa Beach has a charm all its own. At its widest point it's about a mile wide. To the east is the Atlantic Ocean, and to the west is the glorious Banana River and the Thousand Islands which are part of the Indian River Lagoon - great for kayaking and fishing. Mainly known for surfing and the space program, its little known jewels are the sleepy downtown area with canals weaving through the nearby neighborhoods, independent restaurants, post office, library, public schools K-12, and jazz and blues clubs all within bicycling distance. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
